ABOUT
Steinwart Sales Corporation
Steinwart Sales Corporation was started in 1972 by J. Wells (Woody) Steinwart.
His sons, Pete and Ed, took over the family business in 1989 and continued the tradition of great customer service. Ed retired at the end of 2019 and in early 2022, Pete's daughter-in-law, Emily, joined the team. Pete retired in June 2023.
Pete Steinwart
Pete retired with 40 years of experience in the construction sales industry. After graduating from the University of Kansas in 1979, Pete began working in the family business with a focus on two-step distribution and the original big box stores like Payless Cashways and Sutherland Lumber. Throughout the years Steinwart Sales evolved
into commercial specification representatives with a focus on one-step distribution
and architectural support.
Pete lives in Overland Park with his wife and dog. He spends his well earned retirement
golfing, traveling and spending time
with his grandchildren.
Emily Steinwart
Emily joined Steinwart Sales in 2022 with a background in marketing and communications. She spent 10 years with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) following an internship with the Big 12 Conference. She holds a degree in Journalism & Strategic Communications from the University of Kansas.
She has also earned her Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Originally from a small town in east central Iowa, Emily resides in Overland Park with her husband, two children and two dogs.
